The game between Decin and Pardubice was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Decin unexpectedly was crushed by in Pardubice 74-115. Pardubice dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Decin's 32. Pardubice forced 20 Decin turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Decin helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Trey Bonham (183-2002, college: Chattanooga, agency: JCK Sports Group) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import guard Jamonda Bryant Jr (185-2000, college: Norfolk St.) contributed with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Pardubice's coach Jan Sotnar felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Jan Sterba (200-1995) answered with 22 points for Decin. Pardubice are looking forward to face Brno at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Decin will play against NH Ostrava and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of Brno against Srsni Pisek on Sunday night. Visiting Brno was defeated by Srsni Pisek in Pisek 101-84. Swingman Kevin Tyml (199-2001) stepped up and scored 26 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners and Matej Burda chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side the former international swingman David Jelinek (194-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Srsni Pisek will play against Opava at home in the next round. Brno will play against Pardubice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between H.Kralove and USK Praha , which took place in Praha. H.Kralove lost to USK Praha in a road game 93-100 on Saturday. Terry Henderson Jr nailed 21 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Martin Roub came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds for H.Kralove in the defeat. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
In the last two games of round 1 Slavia was beaten by Olomoucko on the road 97-84. Usti n/Labem destroyed NH Ostrava on its own court 105-82.
